Located at Rajghat (Delhi), Gandhi Smriti and Darshan Samiti was formed in September 1984 by the merger of Gandhi Darshan at Rajghat and Gandhi Smriti.
Gandhi Darshan is situated close to the Gandhi Samadhi at Rajghat on 36 acres of land. It offers a comprehensive exhibition on Gandhi spread out in four pavilions, a film auditorium, conference facilities for national and international camps, a children’s corner and a library.
Gandhi Darshan offers research and guidance facilities to scholars from India and abroad with documentation on various peace initiatives.
Gandhi Smriti on Tees January Marg, New Delhi, is a national memorial where the epic life of Mahatma Gandhi ended on Friday, January 30, 1948. It houses one of the biggest museums of Mahatma Gandhi and has a library with around 60,000 books and around 6000 original photos of Gandhi.
Rajghat is where the mortal remains of Mahatma Gandhi were cremated on this spot on the west bank of the river Yamuna on the evening of January 31, 1948. A simple open platform inscribed with the Mahatma's last words, 'Hey Ram' (Oh God) is set in a garden with fountains and a variety of exotic trees.
